UNCLE BEN'S WILD NEPHEW

Yes you read correctly...I am now a proud uncle.
Yesterday Andrew Denekas gave me a box of "Uncle Ben's Wild Rice" with a little arrow pointing to Uncle Ben that says: "YOU". Although this was some sort of congratulatory gift, I really did not have much (or anything) to do with becoming an Uncle. In fact...the only contribution I may have contributed to my current state, is that, in my 18 years of living with my brother Jake, I never once killed him. (Which I easily could have done...since I'm waaay stronger than he is.) Yes, Jake's being alive had a lot to do with me being an uncle.
But other than that, Jake and Bethany Lueders deserve the congratulations...
...for having little Joshua Chamberlain!
He's pretty much a cutie pie.

I like being an uncle...it's like being a dad...except without the responsibility. I wish I were closer though. Hawaii's a long drive from Nebraska. I miss home. I miss Jake and Beth. I miss Josh.
Of course, undoubtedly the biggest challenge that Uncle Ben faces in all of this, is being able to spoil, and pamper little Josh even more than Uncle James. (The dirty rat) Thankfully I'm better than James in just about every way...so I should be good.
Uncle James...the race is on. May the best uncle win. (Probably me)
