Another Andy?
I'm serious about Andy Gullahorn.
See what I mean?
I'm so serious about him that I've added the link to his website over there on the right and I'm writing an entire blog post about him.
I'm so serious about him that I bought his first CD and had him sign it.
I'm so serious that I'm sharing an mp3 sampler of some of his tremendous songs...
...I also shared with you that awesome picture of us.
I first heard Andy Gullahorn when he played with my other two favorite musicians, Andy Peterson and Andy Osenga for the "Behold the Lamb of God" tour last Christmas. Does anybody else think it's creepy that most of my favorite musicians are all named Andy...and they all know eachother. Yeah, it's bizarre. (Oh, and that picture was taken by my good bud Andy Denekas) Check out all these guys' websites.
Last Christmas Andy (GULLAHORN) played a song about Andy (OSENGA's) toe, that accidently got chopped off by a lawn mower. The song was both hysterical and moving. I knew that the man was brilliant. But what moved me most was the incredible musical chemistry Andy had with his talented (and more successful) wife, Jill Phillips. They were simply amazing together.
That's where this picture comes in. Last week, Andy (PETERSON) rolled into town on his new "Resurrection Letters" tour, and my friend Andy (DENEKAS) and I got tickets immediately. We couldn't wait.
The entire show was breathtaking an absolutely beautiful and moving experience. Andy (GULLAHORN) surprised everyone on stage by closing the first half of the show with a song that he had written a few days before after his pastor's sermon. The song was entitled "The Resurrection and the Life", and was based on the Lazarus story intertwined with stories from his own life. It was extremely moving. Andy (PETERSON), tears filling his eyes, dismissed the crowd.
After the show Andy (DENEKAS) and I spent a good deal of time talking with the amazingly generous Andy (PETERSON). Our conversation deserves a blog entry all it's own, but for now I'll stick with the other Andy (GULLAHORN).
I bought Andy (GULLAHORN's) first CD (Room to breathe) and then approached him to have him sign it. He did, and we kind of joked around for a few minutes (he's got a fairly healthy sense of humor) and then I let him go. Later that evening Andy (DENEKAS) and I were talking with some friends in the hall by the CD table, when I spotted Andy (GULLAHORN) starting to put away the CDs that didn't sell. I had Andy (DENEKAS) take our picture.
Although you can't tell...Andy (GULLAHORN) is giving me an amazing shoulder massage in this picture.

I am writing this blog entry to encourage all of you to go to AndyGullahorn.com and explore this amazing musician. I have embedded a sampler of music from this guy's first album "Room to Breathe". Listen...enjoy...then BUY.
Here's what the warning label on the back of my CD says:
"WARNING: Unauthorized duplication is a violation of applicable laws and could result in Andy having to feed his kids grub worms that he digs out from under the bridge where he is forced to live because he cannot make payments on a house thanks to people stealing all of his income. For real man, if you like the music- share it with a friend but please tell them to support us little musicians so that we can keep making music."
'Nuff said.
