A Luther Musical
On November 22nd 2008, a group of daring young actors helped me perform an original musical based on the life of Martin Luther the great church reformer. The musical was written in a very brief amount of time, and was performed after only a few practices. The short play, "Safe Nor Sane: A Luther Musical" starred the Dykstra Brothers, David and Seth, as the notorious Tetzel and naive Pope Leo. I, of course, played Luther and my good friend Andrew Denekas has a cameo at the end as Luther's anonomous attendant. We perfomed the musical at the Fall 2008 Providential History Festival sponsored by Biblical Blueprints and Dominion Covenant Church. Below is a video of the performance as well as some pictures. We were amazed to win both the audience choice award for best drama, and also the judges choice award for best drama. Enjoy!
