The Good news is that pastor Mark teaches precisely what you're saying: that Satan is *not omnipresent, and that most of us will *not experience direct temptation from Satan himself. He articulates that spiritual reality better in other sermons. I'll have to re-listen to this one again, to hear how he could avoid addressing that issue!
I guess because Jesus was tempted directly be Satan in that passage, and because our flesh and demons are on Satan's side...he just kinda lumped them all together with Satan in the sermon.
But definitely a good point, and a point against this otherwise helpful sermon!
—February 24, 2010, 3:54 pmBen - I agree that this is a powerful message. What I'm not hearing though is that Satan is NOT omnipresent. He is a single being. There are billions of people on the planet. Satan is not responsible for all tempations we face. In fact, many of us will never be tempted by Satan. Our sinful nature is responsible for most of our tempations. That said, we overcome them the same way he outlined. Overall, good message.
