The Art & Story Behind Escape from Terikiak by Ben Lueders
Creating Terikiak is a gallery show displaying the artwork from the new children's adventure novel, Escape from Terikiak, and telling the story behind the creation of the book.
In the summer of 2018, Omaha-based author/illustrator Ben Lueders began to create the wild world of Terikiak with the help of his three young sons. What started as a fun family brainstorm of made-up creatures and places—turned into an epic story of mystery, humor, brotherly courage, and family survival.
On November 15th, at the Coram Deo Gallery, Ben will be showing early sketches, writings, and concepts as he shares how the world of Terikiak evolved and developed over time. All 30 of the book illustrations from Escape from Terikiak will be on display for all to see. This show is a must for those interested in fostering imagination, wonder, and storytelling in their children—and also for those who don't want to lose the magic of childhood themselves.
Guests will be able to buy signed copies of Escape from Terikiak or bring previously purchased books to be signed. Signed giclée art prints from the book will also be available for purchase.
