17. The Coronation
This must be my throne!
He walked up the steps, trying to keep his knees from shaking. Back home, he had always liked attention—but this was a little more than he bargained for.
As he sat on the cold gray throne, the crowd again went silent. The sound of the water falling on either side filled him with a sense of calm energy. He took a deep breath and looked down at Cheelo who was coming toward him with a green, leafy wreath in his hand. Cheelo lifted the wreath high into the air and gestured for Arthur to lean forward. He did. He felt the leaves gracing his hair and fitting behind his ears. Cheelo whispered. “King Arthur.”
Arthur couldn’t help but smile at the title.
